The Bible tells us that the Lord Jesus…
“…would withdraw to desolate places and pray.” (Luke 5:16)
During family devotions last night we considered that Jesus – the Son of God – prayed to God the Father. And He prayed a lot. We talked about what this means for us and our need to pray.
If Jesus felt the desire and need to pray as He did, then how much more should we?
May God give us all such a desire to pray that our knees become calloused!
Blessings in Christ,
David

Dear Friends,
The Revelation study will continue through December. It’s been a blessing to me as I’ve taught it – just as it promises (Rev. 1:3).
The Lord willing, I’ll begin a new class January 7, 2009. I’m planning to teach how to read, interpret, and apply the Bible.
Sound interesting? I promise – it will be! Sound intimidating? I promise – it won’t be!
We’re going to have fun while we learn – all to the glory of God.
Blessings in Christ,
David

We will be meeting this Wednesday Evening for a special time of Thanksgiving to God. We will be meeting at 7:00pm for singing, a short Bible study, and a hopefully a lot of testimonies to God’s goodness.
I understand that this is a busy time for many, but if you can make it I am sure we will have a good time of fellowship together in Christ.

I just uploaded last Sunday’s message by Charlie and created a page for future Sunday Morning sermons. The page link is…cwbaptist.org/audio-sermons.
We are also being broadcast on WLNT in Loudon (96.1) and Monroe (94.9) counties, as well as at the WLNT website on Sunday Mornings from 10:30-11:00.
A special thanks to Chip at WLNT for making it possible to put the sermons on our website.

Hi everyone,
This Sunday we’ll begin our new all ages Sunday School class: Lord, Teach Us To Pray. It looks to be another excellent study.
Judging from the feedback I’ve received our first all ages study was a success. Both the adults and the children learned much about God, Christ, the Law, sin, grace, and that “the righteous shall live by faith.”
I think most of us were pleasantly surprised how even the younger kids could grasp the lessons while, at the same time, the adults were engaged and learning too.
Once again, family devotionals corresponding to the lessons will be available. These devotionals help reinforce the past lesson while preparing for the next.
I hope to see you this Sunday morning at 10 sharp!
Blessings in Christ,
David

Hi everyone,
I meant to bring this out during last night’s lesson, but it slipped my mind:
Regarding Revelation 14:11: “And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshippers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”
The wicked have no rest, in contrast to those who die in Christ.
Revelation 14:13: And I heard a voice from Heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”
How good it is that, one day, we will rest in Christ. Indeed, even now we may rest in His finished work. How great and gracious is our God!
You are all wonderful students. Great questions and discussions. I thank God for your spiritual growth.
Anyone is welcome to visit the class.
Blessings in Christ,
David
