Welcome to the beginning!

We’re currently meeting in a hotel conference room. Several of us are there between 9 and 9:30 AM to set up the chairs and make the room presentable. There’s a TV and DVD player in one corner but we never turn it on. Our pulpit is a collapsible sheet music stand. Fancy, we’re not.

We hope to have an adult Sunday School class up and running soon between 10 and 10:45 AM. In the meantime, we’ve been using that time to fellowship together.

Our service begins at 11 AM. This is our order of worship:

– Welcome and opening prayer

– Call to worship and our first song. For now we sing without musical accompaniment. This is not because we have anything against music or instruments – we like them a lot – it’s just that right now no one knows how to play anything!

– Scripture reading

– Prayer and an opportunity to make requests known

– Our second song

– Expository preaching (the message of the text is the message of the sermon)

– Our third song

– Testimonies

– Benediction and closing prayer

All ages worship together. We think it’s important for young and old and everyone in-between to be together and worship together.

There’s three of us sharing the responsibilities of leading, teaching, and preaching. That would be Jeremy, Charlie, and David (that’s me).

We’re striving to keep the main thing the main thing: the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our desire is to pray it, sing it, read it, speak it, teach it, preach it, and praise it every single Lord’s Day.

Blessings in Christ,

David
